Anything to do with the rather shallow nature of consumerism maybe. We're never satisfied with what we have because we have so much more paraded before our faces every day.&lt;br&gt;

Thing is bored people with little else to do, will sit and watch them 24/7, and that gives them something to talk about with their friends, who also sit and watch 24/7, because they have nothing to do.......and so on and so forth. &lt;br&gt;
